Pascale Blaison, a French puppet maker and performer, will share her experiences with puppets made from a special foam material. In this workshop, a variety of foam puppets will be presented. These small-sized puppets, designed for table manipulation, provide a specific method to initiate their animation. Their characteristics immerse the manipulator in a non-realistic experience reminiscent of the world of cartoons. Pascale proposes to explore how the softness and extreme squeezability of foam in human shapes influence the narrative language through manipulation exercises. This exploration allows for a poetic portrayal of everyday situations.
