Adding search to your web-stack with Apache Solr 6

Description:
Search is an important part of a modern application stack. If you have data and users looking at that data - you need search. And good search is not just keyword matching. It is also post-search navigation with facets and statistics, spelling correction, and deep domain awareness.

Apache Solr is a free, open source Search Server built on top of the Apache Lucene library with more than 10 years of solid, active development. It integrates with Content Management Systems, Library catalogues, Big Data pipelines, and Cloud content farms.

It is a big product with nearly infinite possibilities, yet it can be rapidly deployed to power even small data-driven applications to achieve great usability improvements.

In this full-day hackathon, you will receive introduction to the latest Apache Solr, will see a rapid-implementation and debugging workflow and will have time to experiment with your own or provided datasets. At the end of the day, you can demo what you learned and receive additional tips and tricks relevant to your own progress.

No prior Search-technology knowledge is expected. And if you are already familiar with earlier versions of Solr (e.g. from Bangkok Solr Masterclass in 2014), you will still learn a lot as the user experience, workflow and functionalities were significantly improved in Solr 6.
